Even then, a holiday villa makes more sense than a hotel, partially because of the independence and privacy it gives you and partially for price. Independence in that you can eat at any time, and not only when the restaurant is open. Privacy because you are not sharing your space with strangers: you can do your own tidying up and cleaning, as many prefer to do, and you can relax by yourself.

Price can also be relevant, particularly if there are more than two of you. Three hotel rooms can cost significantly more than one Orlando vacation villa that can sleep up to six or more, and the villa offers you all the home entertainment that a hotel can, and then more. You don’t share your pool with 200 others in your villa, and you don’t pay bar prices for your drinks as you relax poolside watching the sun go down.

Without a doubt, Orlando is a great place for golfers that need somewhere to interest the other half of their family. If you choose an Orlando vacation villa as your accommodation, there is no need for anybody to lounge about a golf complex while their partner receives coaching or plays a round, but they can take advantage of everything that Orlando has to offer them and the children.

Not just Disney World, but also the Titanic Exhibition, Boggy Creek and World of Orchids, and they can even go ballooning. There is much more to Orlando than just Mickey Mouse!

I have never been and im a little nervous. Its kind of a first date and I always though that guys liked to enjoy those kind of things with out women around. lol.. But anyways, I would like to look cute, I dont want to look slutty, but its pretty hot out. ha ha ha… thanks for the answers… Well im not a dumb blonde for one. I graduated school 2 years early, went straight into the Army, spent a lot of time overseas, and im divorced. So needless to say I havent had a lot of time to date. I dont mind getting dirty but I also like to look cute ( I prefer not to look like a soldier anymore). I like the idea of sitting in a cart and watching a hot guy do what he likes I’m sure if I tried to play it would slow him up and ide rather not make a full of myself on the first date. Ide rather it be a fun relaxed experience. But yet I was just trying to find out the best items to wear so thank you for the suggestions!!

About the Golf Course

The 2009 US Open is being held at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, New York. The park has five golf courses that are not only world class, but also public. The Open happens on the Black Course, an incredibly challenging course that has hosted the Open and other tournaments before.

In addition to golf, you can also enjoy hiking, biking, trail riding and tennis at Bethpage.

Places to Stay in Farmingdale, NY

Farmingdale is a small town and community. However, thanks to the popularity of the golf courses and the appeal of Bethpage State Park, there are a number of hotels within 10 to 50 miles of the resort.

Courtyard Republic Airport Long Island

This is the closest hotel to the golf course and it books up fast, so reserve now if you want to be close to the action. The hotel is full-service and offers an on-site restaurant. It also operates all-day shuttles to and from the US Open. Again, if you want to stay here, you should book a room as soon as possible.

Hilton Long Island

This beautifully appointed Hilton is located in Melville, just a short drive away from the Black Course. The hotel is full service and offers a number of amenities, but it’s predominantly targeted toward conferences and business travelers. Expect lots of conference space, free wireless and plenty of meeting rooms.

Sheraton Fourpoints at Plainview

Just a 20 to 25 minute drive from the Black Course and Farmingdale, the Sheraton Four Points is a new hotel in Plainview, New Jersey. The style is similar to a Holiday Inn Express and designed for the traveler on the go. There’s an on-site fitness center, free parking and golf shuttles during the Open.

Fun Stuff in Farmingdale

There’s more to do in Farmingdale than see the US Open. If you have a few extra days, try checking out the American Airpower Museum, take a drive to the Hamptons or visit AdventureLand. Adventureland is a family theme park that features 30 rides and attractions that are great for the kids.

Traveling to Farmingdale

Unless you’re flying by private jet, the closest airport to Farmingdale is La Guardia. The drive typically takes about 40 minutes, but can be as long as 70 to 80 minutes in bad traffic. Limit your traffic time by trying to get a flight that lands earlier in the day.
