kotes19 asked:

We’re trying to plan for a family vacation next year. We’re planning on 10-15 people.

Can anyone who’s stayed at Sunriver recommend a good home rental, preferably with good views of the river or mountains or even the golf course?

I am looking at the Sunriver Resort website but I’m too unfamiliar with its surroundings to make a good choice at this point.

Thanks for any tips, advice, recommendations, etc.

5 Tips for Your Golf Weekend

Sunday, March 21st, 2010
golf trip
jamiehanson asked:

A golf weekend is a fun way of getting in a game or two with your golfing buddies on the weekends. However, mishaps can happen that might ruin the fun if the outing was not properly planned and organized. The following are five tips that can help you plan a trouble-free golf weekend. Plan beforehand A golf weekend can be just as complex as a long golf trip. Therefore, it is advised that you start the planning process at soon as possible. First, make sure to contact all of your golfing buddies to see who is going and how many will be in your party. Knowing how large the group is will be important when arranging transportation, accommodations, and golf course reservations. It is always important to reconfirm reservation details just before the date of departure. That way, potential problems can be averted before leaving home. Choosing the right golfing destination There are various golfing destinations but you have to zero in on the right one that is best for your group and situation. Since you are planning a golfing weekend as apposed to a week-long vacation, it is best to choose a golf course close to your town. That way, you can spend your time golfing with your buddies the entire weekend instead of spending time traveling to a far away place. It’s easy to search for the right golfing destination on the Internet since almost all hotels and resorts have websites and online reservation systems. Check the golf course’s availability Some people simply leave for the course without making sure that the course will be available. This is really not a good idea, as you may end up waiting for hours to play, or may not get on the course at all. Of course if you are traveling with a large party and everybody geared up and ready to go, not being able to play due to this minor over-site can be a real let down. Also, many quality golf courses are not be able to handle large groups without proper prior notice. Therefore, it is important to always call to and make sure you will be able to get on. Book your tee time in advance Another thing that is really important is the actual booking of your tee time in advance. This will help secure your party’s place and time on the course. These days making reservations on line is fairly simple as most golf courses have websites. You can just visit your favorite golf course’s website and book your tee time or reservation right then and there. You will have instant confirmation and know that your place on the course is secure. Also when you book through course websites, you may be eligible for significant discounts, especially if you’re with a group. The budget Before making your tee times and or departing for your weekend of fun on the course, you really should consider your budget. Although it may be just a weekend golf getaway, there are expenses other than green fees to consider. You will want to factor in the cost of transportation, food, accommodation, tips, equipment and other expenses. Following these 5 tips will help you to plan and enjoy a great golf weekend.
