John Savage asked:

The article which you are about to read has been written because I have noticed recently an upsurge in interest in golf vacations and I hope that by reading this you will find it not only interesting, but helpful and informative.
Each year, a large number of individuals take a summer trip. These trips may involve a summer vacation with the family, a romantic trip with your partner, or a trip with friends. No matter who you vacation with, selecting a summer vacation destination can be difficult. It is sometimes hard to find a destination that offers activities that everyone will enjoy. If you are an avid golfer, you may want to consider vacationing at a golf resort.
Golf resorts are found all around the world. If you are looking for a golf resort in the United States, you have a large number of destinations to choose from. In many states, golf resorts are only open for the spring and summer months. A number of golf resorts can be found in Arizona, Nevada, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, California, and Texas.
While the main focus of a golf resort is golf, there are a large number of additional activities that can be found at a golf resort. These additional activities may be important when you are vacationing with your family. If they do not enjoy the sport of golf, you will want to make sure that additional activities are available onsite or at another nearby location. If this is the case, you may want to examine local amusement parks or beaches.
If you are interested in staying at a golf resort that has nearby beaches, you will want to examine Myrtle Beach golf resorts. Myrtlewood Golf Resort and Villas is located near Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. This golf resort, which is a short drive to the beach, is ideal for golfers that are vacationing with their family. In addition to Mytrlewood, you can find a number of other golf resorts that are located in close proximity to a beach by searching for golf resorts along the coast.
In addition to searching for nearby activities for the whole family, you may want to research and book a stay at a golf resort that has the whole family in mind. The Marriott Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa, located in California is just one of the many examples of golf resorts that are tailored to the whole family. The Marriot Rancho Las Palmas Resort offers tennis courts, swimming pools, a large water slide, kids camps, and onsite spas.
Now, just before you read any further, I just want to jump in here and say that I really do hope that you are find this helpful. I have written this because I do think that we need to know more about golf vacations, and so, having said that, lets continue.
When it comes to selecting a golf resort as your summer vacation destination, you will want to examine the cost of vacationing there. The cost of your stay should be just as important as the onsite or nearby activities and the location of the resort. If you are traveling with your family or another individual who will not golf, you should search for golf courses that offer discounts to non golfers.
For many individuals the purpose of a golf resorts is to relax and play. The cost of a golf resort stay includes the use of onsite facilities, and the use of golf courses may include golfing, private lessons, and golf cart use. If someone in your vacationing party will not be golfing, they should not have to pay to use the these services. Many of the courses, located in the United States, will not charge full price for non golfers.
If you are interested in vacationing at a golf resort, but you are on a budget, there are a number of ways that you can save money. You can search for online golf resort coupons or you can search for golf resort packages. These packages can be found online through a number of different discount travel websites. In addition to using the internet, your local travel agent may be able to obtain exclusive discounts for you.
If you want to spend hours or even days golfing then a golf resort vacation may be just what you need. Whether you are vacationing alone, with your family, or with friends, you can all find activities and excitement at one of the many golf resorts located in the United States.
Let me finish this article by saying that there is a lot more information on this subject available in your local bookstore, library, or indeed by searching on the internet, it just takes a little effort to uncover some real gems.

Golf Vacation For The Family

Thursday, May 29th, 2008
golf vacation
Peter Bishop asked:

A golf vacation is a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the gentle slopes of a perfectly landscaped golf course. From the islands of Hawaii to the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina, there is a destination not far from every golfer.
The typical accommodations for a golf vacation would be located on the country club grounds. Rentals from condominiums to homes are available at most areas. Each course generally offers gated entrance, well-maintained acreage and plenty of amenities for the entire family. While Dad is out swinging the clubs, Mom and the kids can be enjoying a swim in the pool or a nice relaxing day of nothing but nature.
Picturesque in their appearance, golf courses are the setting for many competitions throughout the year. Some are televised while others are private tournaments for local players. A golf vacation is a terrific way for the golfer, alone, to enjoy some time on the green or a family destination, as well.
When planning a trip, always make sure to confirm reservations ahead of time. Because of their popularity, golf resorts often book up fast. It is a good idea to call ahead at least 6 months in advance of your trip in order to reserve a room and a golf package. Everything from training sessions to professional tournaments can be found all throughout the United States.
If possible, surf the internet and call the local tourism center for the area that you wish to visit. Ask for brochures, visit websites and flip through travel and hotel guides. Each of these will give you an idea of the surrounding area, fun things to do, places to dine and things to see. Most golf resorts have a website, which will give you a very good indication on the various price packages, exterior and interior views of the accommodations and overall photos of the golf course itself.
If you are giving a golf vacation as a gift, there is no better way to surprise someone than with an unexpected getaway. Surprise your friend or loved one with a single golf ball, which you place in a small box and wrap it beautifully. Make sure that you are present with the gift is opened, or it will lose its luster. As the recipient opens the box, he/she will be stunned by the sight of a single golf ball. While wanting to seem grateful, the giftee does not quite understand the purpose. With a smile, you reply, I thought you could use this on your golf vacation; and hand him/her the envelope with their travel arrangements. This is just one way to make a surprise gift a real stunner, but you can think of your own creative way to surprise that special person with the vacation of a lifetime.
If you are planning the vacation as a family, there is not any need for a surprise. Instead, you will enjoy the fun of putting your heads together to plan out the perfect trip. There should be something for everyone in the family to enjoy, so choose an area that is plentiful with activities. If you like the ocean and he likes to golf, try Hawaii for the best of both worlds. Check out a world famous golf resort while basking in the sun underneath a swaying palm tree.

How To Plan Your Own Golf Vacation

Namsing Then asked:

Playing golf is one of the passionate hobbies of the upper echelons of the society. Sometimes these people take a few days off their busy schedule and visit Golf courses or villas elsewhere in the country to enjoy the pleasures of playing Golf over there. They hardly mind packing off and traveling hundreds of miles just to play Golf, just because they love Golf Vacation.
There are many places in US, which offer exotic Golf vacation, the list seems to be endless. From Palm Springs in California, Austin and Barton creek in Texas, Biloxi in Mississippi, Las Vegas in Nevada, Brooksville, Dayton Beach, Orlando, Miami and a dozen more in Florida there are several others located in different States of US.
There are clubs and organizations that specialize in offering Golf package tours and vacations. They take care to provide everything right from lodging, fixing tee times and arranging car rentals. Infact, you can select from over 600 Golf courses at over 250 different resorts and hotels. All you have to do is just get an online quote after you decide.
Plan your entire trip, in four easy steps
1. Select your destination
2. Select your hotel
3. Select your golf course
4. Optionally select your car rental
You can compare the prices of different packages and choose that which suits you best.
Of course, some would love to play Golf built on seaside shores as in Vero Beach, Florida which is a most charming coastal town. Here, Grand Harbor is a private, gated community golf course offering a wide variety of world-class amenities.
It’s not only professionals who go on golf vacations, but even beginners who want to learn the game go one vacations to America’s favorite Golf Schools, offering two, three and five day packages at over 50 locations across the United States.
Every year, thousands of student graduates over 20 years passing out, these students return season after season to refine their playing skills, relax and enjoy the amenities that many of these locations have to offer. These clubs have dedicated teaching staff who sincerely care to teach and improve your golf playing skills.
Their relaxed teaching structure lets you work and also have fun at your own pace, whatever your age or level of ability be Beginners and intermediates are just as welcome as low handicappers. Some of these clubs even offer discounts for senior citizens (60+) and military personnel. They can offer specialized private lessons and have golf schools for women, beginners and juniors.
In general, a Golf vacation could be as exciting and thrilling as any other vacation say to the sea-shore or mountains or water falls.

How do I find lots near golf and ski areas?

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Nthedoghouse asked:

We want to buy a lot for development. Eventually it will become our retirement home but for now, we want to buy land and then build a house on it which we would like to rent as a vacation home. Our preference would be to build on a private golf club near a ski resort. Is there a resource that lists such properties for different geographic areas?
Thanks for the replies that I have received. Firstly, we are only looking at North America. Secondly, we are looking for a resource that can help us search and compare various areas such as Utah, Colorado, Wyoming etc. We need to evaluate the amenities available (golf, ski, fishing, etc.), the cost of the property, construction costs, vacation rental markets, etc. Does anyone out there have any expertise in this area?

Another interesting titbit is that the course was originally 22 holes, until 1764 when the Society of St. Andrews Golfers, the predecessor to the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, decided to combine some holes and shorten the course to 18 holes, the standard number we play today.
